Sloviansk is a city in the Donetsk Oblast of eastern Ukraine, located in the Donbas region northwest of Donetsk. Founded in the 17th century around salt lakes, it historically served as a spa resort. Known as a key strategic location in the Russo-Ukrainian war, it was the site of a 2014 siege and serves as a major military node.
